About

So who am I, and what exactly do I think I'm doing?

In short, I'm a mid-twenties techie type from the midlands (that's in England, for you dirty colonials) with some unpopular opinions, a keyboard with with to dispense them and an unhealthy enthusiasm for gaming.

Gaming is mostly what this site is about, though I've been known to go off on the odd- my, that's an interesting pattern of water droplets on the window… what was I saying? Yes, the odd tangent. I game mostly on my PC, but also on my iPhone, a spiffing GP2X handheld linux hombrew device, and occasionally my childhood Mega Drive. Other platforms I've been known to enjoy include Playstation 2, Saturn and ZX Spectrum. I may at some point adopt a Playstation 3, but I can't find it in myself to enjoy spending prolonged periods on either Xbox 360 or Wii. It's a matter of personal preference. But when I discuss games here, chances are they're on PC.

As for tastes, I enjoy platform and FPS games, puzzle and strategy games, occasionally the odd simulator or builder game, and absolutely anything with a sense of humour. I'm sure you'll come to find out about the games I don't enjoy through my posts here.

Outside of gaming my interests include hardware, music of all flavours and executive-grade procrastination. My hobbies include arguing on forums, prolonged IM sessions into the wee small hours and being a grammar Nazi. When the mood takes me, a good argument often provokes an exciting train of thought, and this website is here for me to communicate those.

My name is Daniel, and I play games.
